My baking history goes back to 6th grade, and home economics, where I made cookies and cupcakes for the first time. In the summers that followed, I took cooking and baking courses, and for the next few years, baking became my specialty hobby for holidays and special occasions. In 2011, I took Wilton Course I, studying cake decorating; my first works were for my young cousin’s birthday. In March of 2012, I again studied cake decorating, at a local bakery. In the fall of the same year, I decided to complete all of the Wilton courses.  These consisted of Course 2, Flowers and Cake Design, Course 3, Gum Paste and Fondant, and Course 4, Advanced Gum Paste Flowers. In November of 2013, five months after I completed Course 4, I got my first customer.  A friend wanted cupcakes for her daughter’s birthday.  Less than twenty-four hours after my first sale, I received another order for Christmas cookies for a holiday party.  Since, there have been many more custom cakes, specialty breads for wedding favors, and special occasion cookies, each one hand designed, like a potter’s glaze.
